Learning Target: SWBAT... decide what colors their self portrait will be and WHY.
1. Review: Color Theory: R, O, Y G, B, V, K, W, B, P
color schemes: complementary, primary, secondary, tertiary, triadic, monochromatic, analogous, warm, cool
2. Open Photos in Photoshop.
double click on layer and menu pops up... color overlay, stroke, gradient fill... etc. Play around with.
Do you want a FILTER on it???
What colors and color scheme will it be? WHY? Think of what colors represent your personality.
And color schemes..... Monochromatic? Analogous? Primary?
Look at all the values in black and white! Start either with the lightest color or darkest color and go in order of value when adding color. (darkest to lightest, or lightest to darkest color)
3. What is in your background? Colors? Patterns? Images? Or are you zoomed in really close?
Is your image UNIFIED?
4. I will come around and check skbk #4- value.
Sketchbook #5 Due Friday Feb 14th
Look around for things with text outside of school. This could be a sign, a newspaper ad, a book cover, a cereal box, etc. Pick three examples of unique lettering that you think go well with the message being portrayed and are effective for the reader. Sketch these texts in your sketchbook and what they are printed on. Write a sentence or so describing why you think each text is effective. Next look around for examples of text that are not effective, maybe too hard to read, too small, etc. Sketch three examples of bad text in your sketchbook, plus what it is printed on, and write at least a sentence explaining why it is not effective.
