11:00- 11:30ish Present Final projects an Posters! Woo. Explain what you made, why you made it, how you made it, etc.

11:30-11:45   End of class survey!!!!! Fill it out yo. Be honest.

Celebrate... you made it through Graphic Design!

Learning Target: SWBAT... Present their two posters and explain to the class their intentions and message for their choice poster.

We will present your posters on Tuesday with your final projects. This means you will have a little less work time then, so plan accordingly!!!! You'll have about and hour or so to work, then the rest of time to present and take a survey.

LEARNING TARGET: SWBAT... check in with Ms Van Dyke and tell her what their two posters are about and how done they are as well as tell her about their progress on their final project.

1. Don't forget you cannot have two simple posters. The level of difficulty must balance out. I will be looking for detail!!!
Check in with poster progress with me.

2. What are you doing for your final? This is worth 150 points!!!!!!!!!!!! Put the time and effort in to it, because it can swing your grade up or down!!!

Do you need 45 minutes in class to work on your final projects on Tuesday???

Learning Target: SWBAT... listen and comment on the senior projects that are being presented.

WORK TIME until 12:25

Work on your posters. ONE art poster, ONE choice poster..... Then ONE choice Final project.

SENIORS!!! Last day of high school!!!! Last graphic design class ever!!!!

You will present your final project the last 35 minutes of class!!! You must have everything turned in! Ask me to check to make sure I have it all, because I have not graded everything yet. Don't forget about paragraphs. (There is a paragraph for the final project!!!)

Individual grade check-in for SENIORS to make sure you have turned in all your assignments.

Everyone who is not a senior is expected to STOP working and listen respectfully to the seniors while they present their projects. No using your computer or phone during this time.

Monday, May 19th

Learning Target: SWBAT... determine how they will use their class time for the remainder of the school year by telling Ms VD a plan.


1. How was the sub?

2. Poster projects-- QUALITY vs QUANTITY---  If one poster is simple to make, the other one should be very very complex!!!! One must be about promoting ART and the other can be a CHOICE, but must communicate a message. 

***SENIORS***

You have Today and 2/3 of the class Wednesday to finish everything in this class!!!! 

You will be graded regularly on the poster project!! Do not slack on that one. You need two posters! 

Your final project (up to you, choice of something made in Photoshop) can be smaller or less complex because you graduate early. This does NOT mean something you made in 5 minutes, this means something that takes you 3 hours instead of 6. 

You will present your final project to the class, for a grade, Wednesday the last 30 minutes of class.

Wednesday, May 14th

Learning Target: SWBAT... share out their 10 images with a partner and Ms. VD of ideas for their final project.

1. I won't be here Friday! Work day. Seniors, remember you have today, Friday, Monday, and only part of the class Wednesday to finish your poster projects AND a final project made in Photoshop.

2. Go over requirement sheet for FINAL PROJECT. On my eBoard. 150 points!!!!!!!

 3. Get out your sketchbook #9... 10 images of ideas of things you wan tot create for your final project in this class. Talk to a partner about your images and WHY you chose them. Tell them (and Ms. VD when I come around) what your plan or ideas for your final project are. If you are sort of stuck, help each other brainstorm, suggest ideas. Talk about it. Remember, it is worth 150 points, so it should look awesome and complex. Quality vs. Quantity.

Tuesday, May 13th

Learning target: SWBAT... critique their classmates' creepy crawlers projects by commenting on at least 4 of the projected projects and sharing their own project with the class.

1. SKBK #9 is due tomorrow!!! You should print it out, we will use it in class and discuss the final project a bit more.

2. Share out creepy crawlers projects. I want everyone to present theirs, say how you made it a little, and have the class discuss positive things about it. Make sure these are turned in because I will grade them later this week!

3. Work time... posters. What are you going to make your poster about???

SENIORS--- you have today, wednesday, friday, and MOnday to work on your poster (large serious project, graded hard) and your Final project (graded loosely, small project)!!!!! Use time wisely.

Monday, May 12th

Learning Target: SWBAT... turn in their final creepy crawlers projects to Ms. Van Dyke's teacher folder on the server in JPG format WITH their original images they used labeled with their name.

1. Turn in creepy crawlers. I definitely did not get all of them!!!!

2. Posters--- decide ONE plan for your poster of what it will look like by the end of the day.

Friday, May 9th

Learning Target: SWBAT... complete and turn in ALL parts to their creepy crawlers project.

1. You should finish your creepy crawlers project today and turn everything in. This is what you should turn in with your name LABELED with it.
 -- JPG's of BOTH of your creepy crawler projects (vampire face, combining animals, and/or original drawing).
 -- Original photos you used (lilke the face you made creepy, or the animals you used to combine)
 --A separate highlighted rubric for each project image.
 --A paragraph for each project that answers all the questions on the first page of the requirements sheet.

Go to my eBoard to find the requirements sheet. You can highlight right on that rubric and type your paragraphs under them and turn it in as one whole file that is labeled "name.creepyrubric"

You can print it and hand write it too if you want.

2. Work on your posters project if you finished your creepy crawlers.

Learning Target: SWBAT... Tell a partner what their poster project is asking of them.

CHECK YOUR GRADES... Did I miss anything? Is there anything, or any part of anything, you forgot to turn in or didn't do??????

1. SKETCHBOOK #9 --- last one!!!!  Due Wednesday, May 14th
This last skbk will be a brainstorming activity for your final choice project. Find a total of 10 images you are inspired by and print them all on one piece of paper. These can be anything digitally made and should inspire you to make something using photoshop. We will look at these next week and discuss ideas for your final project. What type of art are you naturally drawn too? What styles do you like best? What kind of art do you not like? What is something you wanted to make this year in this class and never got a chance to?

Tuesday, May 6th

Learning Target: SWBAT... self- assess themselves using the rubric for their two creepy crawlers projects and writing a paragraph that answers all the required reflection questions.

1. Work on finishing up Creepy Crawlers project. Don't forget about VALUE in your piece. Add shadows so there is the same light source! Add shadow under teeth or under a body if you added it in to a landscape. Make it look realistic! I am going to be picky when I grade these!!!!!

Also think about DEPTH. things in the background are smaller, things in foreground are in front of other parts, overlapping.

2. If you are done with your creepy crawlers project turn it in as a JPG!!! Label it with your name!!!!Also turn in ALL MAIN ORIGINAL PHOTOS you used. This should include your face picture and your original animal images.
Self-assess yourself using the rubric on the requirements sheet. Go to my eboard to open it up and highlight certain parts you think your project falls under for EACH project. There is also a paragraph for each project. Yes EACH. I will grade you harder on the writing this time because I have been lax about it lately. Reflect on the project! This can be typed or handwritten and turned in. You can type it in the same file as the rubric if you want and turn that in, just make sure to rename it as your name-creepyrubric

Learning Target: SWBAT...  assess a partner's progress on their creepy crawlers project by analyzing their images.

1. Have you turned in your scribbler project???? I don't have images for all those projects.
If anyone has questions about their grades please ask me. I've been bad about putting grades in.

2. Think about your final project-- choice project!
Before that we will be making posters. Last assigned project. 2 posters.

3. Work time! work on Creepy crawler projects. I will be a stickler on craftsmanship for this project!!!! make it look realistic and well crafted!!!! like it wasn't made in photoshop. Use all the new tools and ask em questions to make it look excellent!!!
